PART-TIME NANNY (live-out)

LOCATION: New York, NY (Upper East Side, near Q train)

SALARY$20/hour

TYPE OF CARE: part-time nanny for 7-year-old twins (boy & girl)

SCHEDULE: 

  • MONDAY: 3pm - 8pm (3pm - 9pm also possible)

  • TUESDAY: 3pm - 8pm (3pm - 9pm also possible)

  • WEDNESDAY: 3pm - 8pm (3pm - 9pm also possible)

  • THURSDAY: 3pm - 8pm (3pm - 9pm also possible)

  • FRIDAY: 3pm - 8pm (3pm - 9pm also possible)

  • SATURDAY: OFF

  • SUNDAY: OFF

START DATE: September 2019

DRIVING REQUIRED: NO

DUTIES

  • provide compassionate, gentle but strict adult supervision as needed (e.g. enforce boundaries on phone/screen time and ensure kids eat properly)

  • help support emotional development of children (speak, interact and play with kids frequently, maintain awareness of their emotional needs and communicate with kids and parents)

  • pick up kids from school; take kids to/from park, activities and classes as needed

  • help with family meal preparation and daily light housekeeping as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • experience caring for school-age kids

  • multiples experience (twins experience a plus!)

  • excellent English speaker (able to communicate with children regarding their thoughts and feelings, and communicate with kids' instructors and activity leaders)

  • comfortable using Uber/bus/subway to pick up kids from school and take to activities as needed

OTHER

  • able to travel with family occasionally

  • nanny does NOT own dog at home (child highly allergic to dogs)

  • willing to get screenings/immunizations as directed by family

  • CPR-trained (or willing to receive training immediately)

  • seeking a long-term position with family

  • takes direction well & communicates openly with parents

  • punctual (arrive/leave on time)

REIMBURSEMENT

  • $20/hour

  • 10 paid vacation/personal days (all days selected by employer)

  • monthly MetroCard

  • paid 52-weeks/year (i.e. nanny paid when not needed such as during family vacation)
